Campaigners now take Danes Moss fight to government

HAVING helped see off Cheshire East Council development, campaigners at the Danes Moss Trust have now set their sights on the government.

Following a meeting at St Michael's Church, Macclesfield Market Place, on Friday, June 20, members feel the 'chief threat' to the beauty spot is now the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.

The group says part three of the Bill makes it possible for developers to avoid nature protection regulations by paying into a Nature Restoration Fund.

But that this money may be insufficient as some of it can be used to foot Natural England's running costs.
