Social media accounts slammed for filming revellers walking through city

GREATER Manchester Police have responded to the viral wave of TikToks of women filmed on the streets of Manchester city centre. 

The videos, focusing on women walking while on nights out, have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on the social media platform.

Often captioned ‘Manchester nightlife,’ the footage appears to zoom in on women unaware they are being filmed, usually around the Deansgate and Spinningfields area.

Following an M.E.N. report in 2022, a similar account was banned from TikTok for ‘violating community guidelines’ – but at least four similar accounts were active on the site at the time of writing.
