Trout homers as Angels lose finale

Ramén Urias hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, one of four Houston home runs, and the Astros beat the Angels 6-2 on Sunday in the season finale for both teams at Angel Stadium.
WALLY SKALIJ Associated Press MIKE TROUT, who homered Sunday in the season finale, takes up a chunk of the Angels' payroll.
Yainer Diaz, Brice Matthews and Victor Caratini also went deep for the Astros, who failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
The last-place Angels (72-90) finished with nine more wins than they had in 2024 but suffered their 10th straight losing season and extended their playoff drought to Il years.
