Right-wing activist gets Pentagon press pass

BILL CLARK CQ-Roll Call DEFENSE SECRETARY Pete Hegseth instituted a new policy for Pentagon reporters last month.

With the Pentagon's press room largely cleared of mainstream reporters, political activist and presidential ally Laura Loomer says she has been granted a credential to work there.

Loomer has an influential social media presence and the ear of President Trump, frequently campaigning for the firings of government officials she deems insufficiently loyal to his administration. Some targets have been in the field of national security, including Dan Driscoll, secretary of the Army.

Pentagon officials did not immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday. The Washington Post first reported the news of her obtaining credentials.
