The Grade II-listed property that's starred in hit shows

- By DANNY GUTMANN

I've hosted stars of stage and screen in my house!

Ingrid's garden has also been used for filming

IN recent years we've seen Liverpool city centre transformed into 1920s New York for the hit movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as well as the mythical Gotham for the 2022 Batman film.

But tucked away in a leafy suburb of south Liverpool, away from the bright lights and hustle and bustle of the city centre, is Windermere Terrace. And over the past two decades, one resident living in the Grade II-listed row of Victorian houses has been welcoming stars of the screen through her doors with open arms.

Ingrid Spiegl's home has played host to a number of TV shows in the past two decades. The 76-year-old moved to Windermere Terrace in the early 1970s when she met Fritz Spiegl, a flautist with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the creator of the Scouse Press.

As we sit down in her ornately-decorated living room, Ingrid casts her mind back to some of her first memories of living on the street.

She said: "The road surface wasn't tarmacked. It was just like a rutted road. I remember there was a street sweeper who looked like he'd just stepped out of a Victorian painting, and he was mad. He had a wooden wheelbarrow and sort of knee breeches.
