Family's pain over teenager's death – and stolen flowers
A FAMILY say they have “never got over” the death of their much-loved son and nephew.
Connor Smith, 16, was knocked down and killed on Old Chester Road, at the junction with Bedford Road in Rock Ferry, at around 7.30am on January 31, 2017.
Connor, an apprentice joiner, was walking to catch a train to work at the time. Andrew Williams, of Bedford Road in Rock Ferry, later pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at Liverpool Crown Court, and in November 2017 he was jailed for three years and four months, and banned from driving for six years.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it was “most likely” he'd had an epileptic episode before hitting the teenager. Williams also admitted he had been awake for more than 19 hours before the incident.
