STAFF at a Liverpool art gallery could walk out on strike after refusing a pay offer.

- By DAN HAYGARTH

More than 100 members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) trade union, who work at Tate galleries across the United Kingdom including in Liverpool city centre, are being balloted for strike action from October 14 until November 11.

They are demanding an above-inflation pay rise and the return of staff benefits that have been cut, according to the union. The current offer of between 2% and 3% has been rejected by PCS members across all Tate locations (including Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, and Tate St Ives), which the PCS described as 'inadequate amid rising living costs and concerns about low pay'.
