THE local election results for Labour last week were abysmal.

- T. Noon

In local governance and policy making they don’t really mean anything in most of the constituencies as only a third of the wards were up for grabs.

They are really just an opinion poll on how the voters feel and a chance to express their feelings/anger at the way this current Labour government is performing.

That consensus of opinion is correct. But the way the BBC portrayed the demise of the Labour councillors’ seats lost to Reform UK was so biased. The graphics were poor, the statistics misleading and every single presenter seemed to relish the current government's loss of local representatives.

It might as well have been a 48-hour political party broadcast for Reform UK. Not surprising I suppose as the latest BBC news chief editor, John McAndrew, was once the Director of News and news programmes at GB News.
