LIVERPOOL has seen its fair share of heroes. But one who stands out among the rest happens to come in a pair of Speedos.

Michael Cullen - known to many as Speedo Mick - has attended hundreds of football matches in his Speedos.

Through his charity work, he has raised over £1m for good causes in his bright blue swimming trunks, cementing him as a recognisable and inspirational figure in the city.

Away from his persona, Michael has been open about his own past battles with addiction and mental health.

So how do you tell the story of such a man? A book? A documentary? How about a musical at the Royal Court Theatre?

Now, I was sceptical at first. But through Scouse humour, several musical numbers and a few hard-hitting moments, Speedo Mick: The Musical manages to tell the inspiring story of the man underneath the Speedos.
