THE Southport killer downloaded a large amount of anti-Islamic material that would be “grossly offensive to anybody of the Muslim faith”.

The ongoing Southport Inquiry heard yesterday how police investigators found a disturbing litany of extreme material on the electronic devices belonging to mass murderer Axel Rudakubana as part of their wider probe into his dance party attack.

The inquiry was told that two Lenovo tablets and a HP laptop were seized by police officers from Rudakubana’s home address on Old School Close in Banks. Investigators found PDF documents on the then 17-year-old's devices relating to “violence, an interest in religion and conflict, an interest in Nazi Germany, Chechnya, genocide, punishment dealt to slave rebels, the Zulu war, and the fight against ISIS".

A number of JPEG images were also found which included the slavery of women; anti-Islamic material; anti-Semitic material, extreme violence including torture, bodies of the deceased following atrocities, Nazi era imagery and one image of the Twin Towers.
