Thank you for the music, but pub to shut in new year

A PUB known for its live music scene is to shut down after the owners said support for the boozer has “dwindled”.

Richard and Hazel Hewson, who run The White Hart in Thorpe End, Melton, announced the closure on Facebook, saying the decision has been “incredibly difficult”.
The couple said they have “poured everything” into the venue, creating a home for live music and community events.
However, they revealed that despite their best efforts, the pub will shut at the start of the new year.
It will remain open until Sunday, January 4, with live music, Sunday lunches, Christmas dinner and a New Year's Eve party planned.
