SEEN BY PUPILS WAVING HIS ARMS WILDLY AND DANCING

- By DYLAN HAYWARD

A TEACHER caught drunk at school on consecutive days has been banned from the profession.

Christopher Small was sacked from his job at Charnwood College after eight days.

A Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) professional conduct panel heard Small started at the college on August 29, 2023.

On September 5, colleagues spotted him drinking clear liquid from a Lucozade bottle during a staff meeting.

A witness said she could smell what she believed was alcohol on his breath and was certain the liquid smelled like vodka.

The next day, Small turned up drunk again, this time while pupils were present.

Witnesses described him waving his arms around wildly, dancing and holding himself up against walls.

He was “unintelligible and unsteady” on his feet and behaving in a “flirtatious” manner.
