Student flats bid for office block near rail station

A CITY centre office block is being eyed up for university accommodation.

St John's House, near Leicester Railway Station, could be converted into 142 student bedrooms, planning documents reveal.

The 1970s building has been “significantly under-utilised for some time”, Torsion Ltd said in its application to the city council.

The developer is proposing to create 114 studio flats and seven cluster flats with 28 bedrooms between them in the 11-storey block.
