KEPT THEIR PLACES ON RICH LIST
THREE Leicestershire business moguls have maintained their places in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.
The 37th edition of the list, published yesterday, revealed a fall in the number of billionaires, from 177 in 2022 to 156 this year.
However, the Leicestershire trio of Sir Will Adderley and family, John Bloor, and David Wilson and family still managed to be worth more than £5.5 billion between them.
Sir Will Adderley and family, who built their fortune through homeware retailer Dunelm, were fourth regionally with wealth of £1.805 billion.
Their fortune had fallen by £72 million over the past year.
The business began as a curtain stall run by Will's parents Bill and Jean on Leicester Market, with the first Dunelm store in Church Gate, in 1984.
Now Dunelm, headquartered in Syston, has more than 100 stores across the UK and employs about 6,000 people.
