Landmark reached in work on zoo centre

WORK on the construction of Twycross Zoo's £25 million Global Conservation Centre has reached a milestone.

Contractor Henry Brothers Construction held a topping out celebration to mark completion of the main building frame.

Due to open in 2027, the facility is to become a world-first hub for conservation research, education, and collaboration.

The centre received £18 million from the government's Levelling Up Fund, the largest single government grant ever awarded to a UK zoo, and is being built by Henry Brothers in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and UK universities.
