THE relatively comfortable and expected victory over Newcastle Falcons was duly achieved at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
The North-East club now holds the unwanted record of 25 away losses on the bounce, so the Tigers’ win was hardly a surprise.
It was an emotional occasion as Mike Brown, Josh Bassett and, chiefly, club legends Dan Cole and Ben Youngs turned out for their final regular season game in front of the Welford Road faithful, and it may be that the emotion of the day overshadowed Leicester's performance somewhat.
