HUNDREDS OF OBJECTIONS MADE TO THE SCHEME
BUILT ON: The land where 115 homes will go
HOUSING plans have been approved despite more than 320 objections.
Davidsons Developments’ plans for 115 properties between Markfield Lane and the A50 Leicester Road at Field Head were approved by Charnwood Borough Council planners by four votes to three.
Chairman Councillor Jane Lennie threatened to have the public gallery cleared following interruptions and loud applause.
Speaking on behalf of the objectors David Hyde said: “Field Head contains 189 houses - less than 500 people - with facilities confined to a Chinese takeaway.
“The scale of this development is substantial compared to Field Head.
