A HISTORIC industrial building is again being eyed up for demolition to make way for homes.

The site, on the corner of Queens Road and Avenue Road Extension, in Leicester, was previously earmarked for 42 flats.

Plans submitted in 2023 would have seen the disused printworks next to Brice Memorial Hall flattened and a five-storey apartment block constructed on the vacant land. However, this plan was later withdrawn from consideration by developer Development and Land Ltd.

Now, the company has put forward a new proposal for the site, which would again see it cleared and homes built there instead.

The latest scheme seeks approval from Leicester City Council for a three and four-storey flats block, comprising 30 homes. Of these, 12 would be one-beds and 18 would be two-beds.
