A MAN who died in a Leicester street this week has been named by police. A murder investigation, which has led to a number of arrests, was launched in the wake of Philip Nutting's death.

- By LEE GARRETT

Mr Nutting, known as Phil or Phily B to his family, died on Monday after being found fatally injured in Modbury Avenue, Mowmacre Hill, at around 12.10am.

The 53-year-old was discovered by patrolling officers but was pronounced dead by an East Midlands Ambulance Service crew shortly after they arrived.

Police believe Mr Nutting was assaulted prior to his death.

Officers have so far arrested three men. Two of those, aged 19 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of murder, and have been released on police bail while the investigation is continuing.
