Graves may be reused under 10-year plan for borough's cemeteries

LIMITED ROOM TO REST: Wigston Cemetery has enough space left for about a decade's worth of burials

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council says the cemetery, in Welford Road, has enough space for about a decade's worth of burials under "current trends".

This leaves the authority with two options: reusing "very old" graves with the approval of the govern ment, or finding land to either extend the cemetery or create a new one.

Residents can have their say via an online consultation shared in a public Facebook group, Spotted Wigston.
