CLUB NEEDS TO DELIVER ON THE PROMISES CONTAINED IN CHAIRMAN'S INTERVIEW
IT’S a positive first step for Leicester City, but only when the foot is planted.
The intention to appoint a new technical director and a pledge to be more communicative and transparent represent an acknowledgement of City’s faults from chairman Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha. But there can be no celebration until action follows those words.
Only when a technical director is appointed, and one with expertise in overseeing transfers, contracts anda club's footballing direction, can supporters begin to feel more hopeful.
And only when Top delivers more regularly on speaking to fans and the media, and opens up further on City’s mistakes and their plans to fix them, will it feel like a corner has been turned.
In his interview with the club, Top did admit to faults over a lack of communication and his promise to rectify that seemed sincere, but there was little substance to his words beyond that.
