First food fayre opens festivities at Highcross

ALL the special events and activities taking place at the Highcross in the run-up to Christmas have been unveiled by the Leicester city centre shopping centre.

The events kicked off at the weekend with the first Festive Food Fayre, transforming St Peter’s Square into a “winter foodie hotspot”.

From now until Christmas, visitors can indulge in sweet treats and gourmet delights from a lineup of local traders and independent food specialists.

With outdoor dining igloos, tables and seating available - and no booking required - shoppers can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a true taste of Christmas in the city.

It is showcasing a mix of festive favourites, from traditional German sausages and gourmet burgers, to loaded hot chocolates, warm sugar doughnuts, toasted marshmallows and fudge.
