Defending table tennis champions tighten their grip

DEFENDING champions Knighton Park firsts made absolutely sure of leading Division One of the Leicester and District League at the half way point by defeating their own fifth team 10-0.

The spot behind is less settled. Two of the top four teams met when Electricity drew 5-5 with last season's runners-up, Loughborough Unicorn.

Both the Loughborough side and Knighton Park's second team still have three matches to pull in with the latter able to gain the most points providing they win all three.

Their latest was a tight 6-4 against Winstanley thanks mainly to a fine maxi from Zia Malik.
