County heroes are recognised at awards night

A PASSIONATE cornhole club, an inspiring women's football team and people who champion health and wellbeing have been celebrated at an awards night.

Among those honoured at North West Leicestershire's Let's Get Moving Awards was Lauren Aley, a remarkable disabled athlete whose determination inspires others, Jenni Sawyer, a local hero whose commitment to getting people active has made a real difference in the community, and Cobain Wilkinson, a dedicated karate champion whose hard work and talent have earned national titles.

Celebrating the district's community champions, the awards paid tribute to spirit, dedication and resilience through fantastic achievements in sports and activity.

The awards are organised by North West Leicestershire District Council in partnership with Everyone Active and the School Sports Partnership.
