'Contempt for loss of life' shown by driver who lied

A MAN who killed his uncle in a crash and then lied about who had been driving showed “contempt for the loss of life", the officer in the case said.

Cory Heritage, pictured above, had been drinking and smoking cannabis before driving his 48-year-old uncle, Jason Farmer.

He lost control of his car in Barlestone Road, Bagworth. The vehicle flipped over and hit a tree.

Heritage, 24, was relatively unhurt and able to pull his uncle out of the vehicle, but he died at the scene.
