'Bus services are the worst thing about this place'
Leicester Mercury
|November 13, 2025
A TOWN's bus services are in need of change as they run late too often, according to residents.

DELAYS: The bus stop at Memorial Square
Even a bus driver said that something needed to be done to get the buses serving Coalville back on track.
He said the job is made more stressful when buses keep running late, and he has suffered abuse from customers because of issues that are outside of his control.
The driver, who was waiting for a bus with other customers when the Mercury visited Memorial Square in Coalville, said: “The bus services absolutely need to change.”
The group was waiting for their bus which should have turned up about half-an-hour earlier.
The driver, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the bus was running 25 minutes late - and admitted it was an occurrence that was not particularly rare.
He added: “We are given less time to do our job - there is traffic, diversions, accidents and all different types of things that we have to go through.
“In this case, the driver is 25 minutes late because of too little time.
“If they were given enough time, they would have been on time and the customer could go about their journey according to their plan.”
