Big-hitting batter Sweet decides to quit Foxes to join Glamorgan in Tier 1

BATTER Francesca Sweet will leave Leicestershire Women ahead of the 2026 season to join Glamorgan

Sweet joined the Foxes in early 2025 following a successful trial period and quickly became a central figure in Leicestershire's inaugural Tier 2 season.

Her all-round quality, drive and consistency made her one of the standout performers in the squad.

In the Metro Bank One-Day Cup - Women's League 2, Sweet amassed 315 runs in nine matches, averaging 39.38, including an outstanding 138, two half-centuries and a century.

She struck 36 fours and 5 sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 106.06 from 297 deliveries.

In the Vitality Blast Women - League 2, she again led the way for Leicestershire with 296 runs from nine innings, averaging 37.00 at a strike rate of 115.62, hitting 43 fours and 4 sixes, with a best of 67 not out.
