Anti-social hotspot is shut for three months

POLICE and council staff have closed a flat with a court order following months of antisocial behaviour.

The property in Earl Shilton had become a long-term nuisance for other residents in the area, including a number of elderly and vulnerable people.

Between them, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and police gathered evidence and made an application to Leicester Magistrates’ Court, which made the order for the property, in Ronald Toon Road.

The closure order lasts for three months and bars people from entering the flat.

Ronald Toon Road has several council flats, as well as homes for the elderly within Tom Eatough Court, which is also council-owned.
