'Air ambulance saved Charlie's life with how quickly they acted'

A FAMILY have thanked the Air Ambulance Service for actions which saved their son’s life.

Charlie Dexter, nine, from Leicester, suffered severe brain injuries after he was hit by a car as he crossed the road outside his home as he walked back from school in February.

His dad Paul, together with his grandmother, rushed outside after hearing a loud bang and found Charlie lying in the road.

He had suffered multiple brain bleeds, swelling and a fractured skull.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance was dispatched and landed in a nearby park, with their quick actions helping save his life, according to mum Emma.
