Brehaut's squad in good shape after Fenton signs
Leek Post and Times
|June 25, 2025
LEEK Town would be ready to go into battle right now even if they were not to sign another player this summer.
That's the view of manager Josh Brehaut who has added a third player to the squad in the past few days and it's another he is delighted with."
After signing Ollie Heywood from Chester, the defender having played on loan for Leek last season, as well as Connor Heath, a forward from Hyde United, Brehaut has snapped up another defender, Matty Fenton.
The 24-year-old has spent the last four years at 1874 Northwich and has been a regular there.
Originally part of Crewe Alexandra's youth system and a graduate of Northwich 1874’s well-regarded U21 side, Fenton was pitched into the first XI towards the end of the 2021/22 season and acquitted himself extremely well in his 10 outings, which included three bullet-headed goals.
