Belfry transformation to bring 'vibrancy' to the heart of Redhill

SHOPPING CENTRE REVAMP TO ALSO PROVIDE HOMES
THE owner of Redhill’s Belfry has unveiled plans to transform the face of the shopping centre, with nearly 250 apartments and more than 20 new retail units.
Redhill Ventures is working up a planning application for the site, but first is asking residents and businesses for their feedback.
It has split the planned development into three separate blocks at the frontages of the centre - on High Street, to include a new entrance, the Cromwell Road and High Street junction and on Station Road.
Running Hare Investment Management (RHIM) is developing the plans on behalf of Redhill Ventures, which bought the centre and adjoining office blocks for £17million in 2023.
Key goals of the redevelopment are "enhancing key and prominent edges" of the shopping centre which involves creating a new "focal point" for the Belfry, alongside delivering a new "town centre residential community" across the three sites. The highest of the blocks to be constructed is eight storeys.
“Our emerging proposals are a strong signal of investor confidence in Redhill town centre,” said Will Banks, development director at RHIM.
“We see the three separate redevelopment sites as prime candidates for regeneration and improvement of the town centre.”
