Pop pioneer Uffie says having inspired Charli XCX is 'really sweet'

"Uffie was like the first artist that I was completely inspired by, that made me work, I suppose,” Charli XCX told Billboard way back in 2013 prior to the release of her debut album True Romance.

The 32-year-old singer, real name Charlotte Aitchison, has gone on to mention Uffie’s name in award acceptance speeches and interviews since her Brat breakthrough which catapulted her to superstardom, but what does the US-born singer, songwriter and DJ make of it all?

Uffie-Anna-Catherine Hartley-said: “It’s really sweet of her, she’s a super talented businesswoman for sure, she’s a super talented artist.

“I actually remember hearing about her in London when she was probably like in high school.”
