Police boss joins calls for action to tackle M6 mayhem

The police and crime commissioner for Lancashire has added his voice to the growing calls for urgent action to tackle regular disruptions on the M6.
Clive Grunshaw has written to Heidi Alexander, the secretary of state for transport, to outline the impact of frequent accidents and the subsequent congestion between junction 28 and 33 on the M6.
His voice is added to that of Preston MP Sir Mark Hendrick and Ribble Valley MP Maya Ellis who both urged action after recent problems spreading on to roads across central Lancashire.
Mr Grunshaw's letter said: "When the M6 is closed or congested, traffic is routinely diverted through Preston and surrounding areas.
