'Young people are the future, so we need a city that works for us too'. That's the message to Preston's rulers from the city's young people, following the publication of the city's first ever Youth Strategy.

Meet the young people guiding the city to a brighter future

Among the initiatives being considered is the establishment of a new Youth Council, to ensure young people can help shape the city's future. Provision for young people has centred on Lancashire County Council or third-sector groups previously but the new 10-year vision for how young people are integral to the future of the Preston has been undertaken by Preston City Council alongside dozens of city organisations and involved thousands of young people themselves.

It comes as more than 1,400 teenagers in the city, as young as 11, have been consulted on the direction Preston should take.

Preston's Youth Strategy is due to be formally unveiled in September, while the Foxton's new youth and community centre in Avenham opened last month, and The Vault - Preston Youth Zone is due to open in the city centre later this year.

But what do young people who have been part of shaping the city's new youth strategy think and feel about Preston?

We have been following the journey of those involved and recently sat down with Rhiannon, Tamara and Sara to get their views on life in Preston and much more too.
