Historic show secures its future with field purchase

Organisers of Garstang Show are looking to the future with optimism after buying the main show field.

Held just off Green Lane East on Garstang's eastern edge, the history Garstang and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, as well as the show itself, dates back more than 200 years.

The announcement was made at the society's last committee meeting where chair, Helen Hands, confirmed that the society had completed the acquisition.

"This is a hugely significant moment for the Society," she said.
