Growing passion pays off with first-ever home-grown garlic crop

Happy July, although I could swear it was only two weeks ago that I wrote happy June.

I have mainly been marvelling at the potency of homegrown garlic; my first ever crop, grown from garlic that was sprouting in my kitchen.

I dug it up three weeks ago, hung it to dry and used the first bulb today in an Italian braised courgette dish. Wowza! Supermarket-bought garlic is nowhere near this good.

I am still eating raspberries and smashing things (connected?). This week I treated myself to a jar of stuffed vine leaves, as I won't be getting to Greece any time soon, but dropped and smashed the jar before I even got into the house.
