Future's bright says Lancs' ace Gaur as she anticipates huge 12 months

Lancashire and England fast bowler Mahika Gaur believes the women's game in this country is approaching a sweet spot given the magnitude of tournaments on the horizon.

Left-arm quick Gaur has been speaking following last week's release of the schedule for next summer's T20 World Cup in England, which will be played from June 12 to July 5.

Before that, there is also a 50-over World Cup to be played in India and Sri Lanka at the start of this winter, something which will whet the appetite of England fans. And in the summer of 2027, England will host Australia in the Ashes.

Added to that, there is the excitement around a new county-led domestic structure, which was launched at the start of this summer.

Gaur's Red Rose captain Ellie Threlkeld recently lauded the quality of cricket which has been on show.
