The Red Dragons looked on course for all three points after Kieffer Moore gave them a fourth-minute lead.

They held on to the advantage until 81st minute when Armstrong slotted home his first goal since arriving at Deepdale in the summer on loan from Everton.

The 18-year-old has been a key figure for North End this season, although it was his first appearance for the club in over a month after he suffered injury while on international duty for England Under-19s.
