Good American Family (Disney+, from May 7) Having the lead role in smash-hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy means that Ellen Pompeo doesn't have much time to appear in other productions, so when she does commit to something, you can bet it's going to be special.

So expect to be enthralled by this eight-part series, which is inspired by an incredible true story. Pompeo plays Kristine Barnett who, along with her husband Michael (Mark Duplass), adopts Ukraine-born seven-year-old Natalia Grace (Imogen Faith Reid). A year later, the Barnetts claim that Natalia, who has dwarfism, has displayed what they describe as 'sociopathic behaviour', and that she isn't a child at all, but rather a woman aged 22, setting in motion a bizarre, heartbreaking and moving chain of events.
