Evie finds her independence in a flatshare... but could she find something more?

- A short story by Audrey Parkinson

A bit of a tangled web

Evie worked in a chemist. It had a good reputation, and she loved the job. There was just one aspect of her life she wasn't happy about; she wanted to leave home and be independent.

Her parents felt she was too young, at 20, and were trying to persuade her against it. However, fate fell into her hands. Her colleague at the chemist was getting married and vacating her room in the house she shared with her friends. The house was owned by partners, Baz and Trev.

Despite her parents' wishes, Evie moved in and was delighted with her room, and her independence. Baz and Trev welcomed her with a small cheese and wine evening. They seemed so nice and friendly and helped her to move in. She really felt she had landed on her feet.

She did not have a boyfriend, but her new life occupied her spare time totally. She was not beautiful but was quite attractive in a pleasant sort of way.
