UAE reaffirms respect for ICJ as Sudan verdict awaited today

The UAE reaffirmed its “commitment to international law and full respect for International Court of Justice (ICJ)” as the ICJ is set to deliver on Monday its decision regarding the case filed by by Sudan against the UAE.
In a statement sent to Khaleej Times on Sunday, Reem Ketait, deputy assistant minister for Political Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “Tomorrow (May 5), the ICJ is expected to deliver its decision regarding the case. The UAE reaffirms its full respect for the Court and its commitment to international law. “As a responsible member of the international community, the UAE is engaging with these proceedings in good faith, confident that the facts and the law firmly support our position.”
