The United States has once again plunged headlong into a Middle Eastern conflict on the back of half-truths, dubious intelligence, and political grandstanding.

Over the past three decades, this is the fifth Muslim country that the US has either gone to war with or worked actively to destabilize and destroy. The list is long: Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon and now Iran, where the US is taking forward the aggression launched by Israel. This is not to forget Gaza that Israel has already leveled, killing around 60 thousand Palestinians.

President Donald Trump may insist, loudly and triumphantly, that this is not a war. But make no mistake: when American stealth bombers drop bunker-busting ordnance on a sovereign nation’s nuclear sites, it is war. And it is illegal under international law.
