Toon boss hails his dynamic duo of Isak and Murphy

THEY'RE Newcastle's answer to Batman and Robin, Toon super-heroes firing the Geordies towards the Champions League.

But for manager Eddie Howe, goal machine Alexander Isak and his trusty sidekick Jacob Murphy are a dynamic duo with a difference.

Over the years, football has been graced by some spellbinding double acts.

From Rush and Dalglish, through Shearer and Sutton to Cole and Yorke and on to Haaland and Foden last season.

But none, according to Howe, are quite like Isak and Murphy. They are the long distance combo.

Their respective stats draw comparison with those illustrious tandems.

Isak's midweek goal against Brentford made it 20 Premier League goals for the second season in a row, while in 26 games this term, Murphy has scored five plus nine assists.
