250 were jailed for stealing just in 2024
THEFT is the main crime women in Ireland are jailed for, new data has revealed.
A total of 250 females were imprisoned for stealing last year - a massive increase from the 126 jailed for this offence five years ago in 2020.
The second biggest offence women are imprisoned for is 'Offences Against Government, Justice Procedures and Organisation of Crime'.
