RORY Mcllroy rounded-off his finest year as he was named the RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year.

In a year that finally saw Mcllroy claim victory at the Masters to make him only the sixth man in history to complete golf's Grand Slam of four major championships, he also picked up a second RTÉ gong, having previously won in 2014.
Earlier in the evening swimmer John Shortt was crowned Young Sportsperson of the Year.
