Wirtz to inherit Gerrard's shirt after sealing record €135m deal

FLORIAN WIRTZ wants to lead Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory after his record €135m move to Merseyside was made official last night.
German star Wirtz (22) completed his medical at the champions' training base before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract worth around €58m.
Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is also heading to Liverpool after a €46.7m fee was agreed yesterday which will take the Reds' summer spending beyond €233m, with more to come.
Speculation is now mounting that Wirtz will be handed the number 8 shirt made famous by former skipper and Kop hero Steven Gerrard.
