HORROR Peter lost his life in stretch of River Barrow
A TEENAGE boy who died after getting into difficulty while swimming was named yesterday as Peter Byrne.
The 17-year-old, from Dolmen Gardens, Carlow, was found by Garda divers at around 11pm on Tuesday.
He was understood to have been swimming with a friend when tragedy struck at around 6.30pm in the River Barrow in the Milford area of the county - 8km from his home town.
Peter had been with a couple of friends at a local gym and it is believed he and another pal then decided to go swimming at Cloghristick, Milford.
