SF BLAST €100K BIKE SHED 'GROUNDHOG DAY'

A €100,000 TENDER for a bicycle shelter at the National Maternity Hospital is “bike shed Groundhog Day”, Sinn Fein’s leader has said.

Addressing the Taoiseach at Leaders' Questions yesterday, Mary Lou McDonald said she thought it was a “windup” when she first heard about the project.

In a testy exchange, Micheal Martin accused the opposition of hypocrisy, saying they had complained about a lack of investment in active travel and had requested bike shelters in the past before later complaining about the costs.
