Rory clears a water hazard

RORY Mcllroy has secured his second major victory in a week after his "inappropriate" plans for an outdoor pool in his new English mansion were approved.
The newly-crowned US Masters champion swapped his focus from the greens of Augusta to the greenbelt at his Surrey mansion as he was given "very special" permission to carry out work on the protected area.
Fresh from wearing the famous green jacket for the first time to complete a historic career grand slam, McIlroy has now been allowed to install a new heat pump in the grounds of his home on the prestigious Wentworth Estate.
The pump will serve a new outdoor swimming pool despite it being considered "inappropriate development under national planning guidelines.
CLIMATEThe pool is thought to appeal to McIlroy's wife Erica Stoll, who does not like Florida's sunny climate but is unlikely to want to take a dip in an outdoor pool in freezing England.
McIlroy previously admitted that the New York native was keen to spend more time away from the Sunshine State.
