Reliant Robin proving to be real bargain
Irish Daily Star
|October 04, 2025
ROBIN ROEFS heads to Old Trafford in superb form - with the Sunderland keeper already hailed as one of the bargains of this summer's transfer window.
A bold recruitment drive is bearing fruit with Regis Le Bris' side unbeaten in four games and tipped to snatch only their second league win at Manchester United since 1968.
Roefs is one of several new arrivals to hit the ground running with Le Bris convinced that the Black Cats struck gold when they paid just £10million for the former NEC Nijmegen goalkeeper.
"Our recruitment team was aware of him but for me, I discovered Robin in the summer," said the Frenchman.
"And when I analysed his profile, it was clear that he was one of the best I've ever seen during this transfer window.
"It is not easy to find a goalkeeper with such good qualities in different areas.
